By the end of the “Fundamentals of 3D Fashion Using Browzwear” course, participants will comprehensively understand 3D fashion design and visualisation using Browzwear software. Throughout the course, participants will master Browzwear Software, develop proficiency in operating Browzwear and gain familiarity with its interface, tools, and features, including: Digital Garment Creation: Learn the essential techniques for creating 3D digital garments, including pattern making, fabric selection, and virtual sewing. Fit and Visualisation: Learn how to achieve accurate virtual garment fit, drape and movement, allowing for realistic simulations and visualisations. This course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in 3D fashion design using Browzwear, making them valuable assets in the fashion and apparel industry.

We generate ideas every day. Through 3D printing technology, we can facilitate the realisation of our ideas without going through the tedious process of achieving them as an end product. This hands-on interactive workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to understand how to generate, design and produce their products. Students will explore and understand the technology, concepts and processes of 3D Printing from idea to printed end product. Upon completion, participants will be able to understand and differentiate different types of 3D printing technologies and bring home their 3D printed designs.

Bacterial cells are challenging to view under the microscope due to their need for colour and contrast. Researchers have been using several types of stains to make these cells visible. These staining procedures help study the morphology, dimensions, cell size and arrangement of bacteria, thereby enabling successful identification. The Gram staining method is one of the most commonly used procedures that help differentiate between gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

This course aims to familiarise participants with the fashion design process. Experienced fashion instructors will guide learners through an introductory exploration of the entire fashion design journey. The course will cover essential fashion illustration methods, focusing on the nine-head body figure. With instructions on mind-mapping and brainstorming, the course emphasizes one’s critical thinking abilities. Upon completing the course, participants will attain proficiency in basic drawing techniques, fashion illustration and a foundational understanding of key fashion design processes.

DNA fingerprinting is a laboratory chemical method used to identify an individual from a sample of DNA by looking at unique patterns in their DNA. DNA fingerprinting can be applied to a variety of situations including criminal investigations and for forensic purposes, establish paternity and parentage, study biodiversity of species, track genetically-modified crops, and even to identify genetic conditions for disease prevention and cure. This workshop will provide hands-on experience on DNA profiling methods, analysis of forensic samples, data interpretation and case reporting.

In this workshop, participants will be able to understand their body shape better and learn ways to style themselves for job interviews. The session will emphasise the importance of professionally dressing up for a job interview and offer case studies of a good and bad body image. The workshop will include a group consultation and role play for participants.

Learners can tailor their DIY rose gifts to suit various occasions and personal preferences, adding a personalised touch to their creations. Through this experience, learners will gain confidence in their creative abilities and feel empowered to craft heartfelt gifts for friends and family on special occasions. Learners will hone their problem-solving skills related to crafting and how they can creatively solve common issues that may arise during the gift-making process. Overall, this DIY rose gift-making session will equip participants with practical skills to create meaningful, customised gifts for their loved ones.

Whether it is for a hobby or as a profession, you can learn how to mix mocktails like a professional with our five-time National Cocktail championship Trainer (Student Category) in a realistic bar within a luxury training restaurant set-up at MDIS Campus. Learn about the types of beverages, bar terminologies, glassware, the art of mixing common mock tails and cocktails, garnish preparation and even the opportunity to create your own concoction too. This workshop uses a combination of presentations, demonstrations and practical lessons to equip participants with the fundamental knowledge and practice.

The Latte Art Workshop offers participants an immersive experience into the world of coffee artistry, focusing on the intricate skill of creating beautiful designs atop a latte or cappuccino. This hands-on workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to the different techniques, equipment and artistic principles necessary to master this captivating form of coffee presentation. Attendees will comprehensively understand the techniques and artistic principles behind creating stunning latte art. They will leave with the confidence and skills necessary to transform a simple cup of coffee into a visual masterpiece, making them well-equipped to pursue latte art as a hobby or potentially as a professional barista.

This course will introduce learners to the art of draping fabrics and enhance their understanding of garment construction and design. Qualified Fashion lecturers will be part of the process to educate learners on the theoretical approach to draping. This objective aims to provide participants with a solid introduction to draping, equipping them with essential skills to explore fundamentals in fashion design and apparel construction.

This intensive workshop provides a hands-on introduction to leveraging AI tools for enhancing research and study strategies. Participants will gain practical knowledge of AI applications that can streamline data collection, analysis and study practices. The workshop will cover the following: • Introducing the fundamentals of AI in research and study; • Demonstrate key AI tools that assist in data collection, analysis and content generation; • Explore practical applications of AI for personalised study strategies.

This workshop introduces the types of restaurants in Singapore and common menu and table set-ups. Other key areas include dining manners, napkin etiquette, dining styles, handling of beverages and even management of mishaps. This workshop embraces a combination of presentations, demonstrations and actual practice during a three-course meal in a luxury restaurant setting to introduce participants to relevant restaurant terminology and the essentials of Western (Continental European and American) dining etiquette to project a confident and professional image in various dining settings.
